They think 2016 is all over… Now here’s the adidas Originals Spring 2017 Terrace Collection

The ADIDAS ORIGINALS SPRING 2017 TERRACE COLLECTION is on its way to prove that sometimes the old ones really are the best.

adidas made waves this year for a host of forward-thinking new styles – 2016 was basically the year of the Boost – but its line-up of archive silhouettes has been just as strong. And from the looks of the preview that size? have just unveiled, the adidas originals Terrace collection is looking better than ever for 2017. These casual classics played an important role in the early days of trainer collecting in the UK and Europe, with football fans buying up rare models while following their teams on the Continent and then bringing them home to wear on the terraces. Newer fans of the 3 Stripes might be unaware of the pivotal role these vintage models played in trainer culture, but put it this way: without the original terrace styles from the last century, you wouldn’t have been fiending over Yeezys in 2016.

Getting back on the subject, here’s what we have to look foward to for 2017… First up, the LA TRAINER is back in two new colourways, complete with its original panelling and midsole plugs (see, even the NMD has a nod to the past). Next we have the NEW YORK in its OG grey colourway, sitting at the chunkier end of the terrace scale with its familiar eyestays and shock-absorbing midsole webbing. The BERMUDA hasn’t seen a reissue for years, but 2017 will see it reincarnated (with its original shape intact) in two tonal colourways based around rich blues and soft greys. The MÜNCHEN is a perennial favourite, and after the size? exclusive colourways released in 2016 we’ll be treated to a duo of subtle bangers for the new year. The DRAGON is set to return with three clean new renditions, all of which feature the ever-popular gum outsole. And lastly, we can expect new versions of the VALENCIA and BERN, decked out in leather and suede in their OG colourways.
