The NIKE AIR FORCE 1 ULTRAFORCE MID is a forward-thinking new take on the 1982 basketball classic.

The name might be a bit of a mouthful, but the UltraForce is certainly strong with this one. Instead of the familiar Air Force 1 Mid styling, the updated model does away with the ankle strap altogether and adds a snug one-piece inner bootie overlaid with mesh for breathability. Leather panels at the toe, heel, ankle and eyestay retain the instantly-recognisable lines of the original AF1, while pull tabs at the tongue and heel add a military flex and make the shoe quick to pull on and off. The first two colourways of this new style feature bold tonal uppers in Gym Red and Black, both riding on a lightweight new white sole unit. As a finishing touch, reflective tape on the tongue and heel adds a stylish utilitarian cherry to this futuristic cake. Advancing the style into the future, this new take on the classic still retains the signature visual touchpoints that helped make the Air Force 1 a bona fide icon across so many decades and subcultures.
