Nike will debut the NIKE AIR MAX THEA FLYKNIT next week, outfitting the popular women’s Thea silhouette in the brand’s proprietary ultra-light yarn.
Nike is calling this its most minimal Air Max silhouette due to the application of the breathable Flyknit upper and an injected Phylon insert in the forefoot for ultralight cushioning and comfort. Other features include a PU insert over theMax Air heel unit for additional cushioning, as well as a cored-out midsole – with the transparent air bubble unit – to create a more lightweight and flexible feel. Nike has shared details of four colourways so far: Black/White (often referred to as the ‘Oreo’ colourway), Glacier Blue/Black/White, University Red/White/Black, and Bright Melon/Black/White. Each of the colourways have matching laces, embroidered branding on the rear and a sock-like ankle lining to complete the svelte, streamlined look. The genesis of Flyknit technology was feedback from runners who wanted a shoe that had the fit and feel of a sock. The result was a featherweight, formfitting and virtually seamless upper, and The Drop Date feels strongly that the Thea silhouette is it ideal vehicle.
The women’s Air Max Thea has been a hit since it debuted in 2014 and will surely gain new followers with this lightweight, Flyknit iteration. The NIKE AIR MAX THEA FLYKNIT will drop on MONDAY 16 DECEMBER and will be available at NIKE via the banner below.
