Nike Air VaporMax Has A Release Date At Long Last

It looks like we finally have a confirmed release date for the highly anticipated NIKE AIR VAPORMAX; the word from Beaverton is that March will be the drop date.

As The Drop Date first shared with you last year, the VaporMax is the result of three decades of research and development. The Nike Air Max first appeared on the scene in 1987 and it was the first time we saw large, visible Air-cushioning unit on a silhouette. Fast forward 30 years and we arrive at the Nike Air VaporMax, which the brand says delivers on the full promise of Air. In other words, it fulfills its mission to “provide lightweight, consistent cushioning that lasts”. How have the bright sparks at Nike achieved this? New technologies now allow the VaporMax Air unit to act as a standalone outsole, allowing designers to incorporate the Air and exterior layer into one holistic unit, which eschews the need for a traditional foam midsole. Losing the foam means the shoe sheds its weight and bulk, which results in the new midsole achieving greater flexibility and spring without compromising structure, while also reducing weight and waste. Another benefit is by placing the upper directly on the VaporMax Air unit, the wearer can enjoy a pillowy sensation as well as a greater energy response. We can’t wait to try these on ourselves!
