NikeLab x Stone Island Windrunner FW16 – Available Now

Nike and Stone Island first came together to launch 2016 as the Year of the Windrunner, and now the two heavy hitters have collaborated on a second version of the iconic athletic garment with the NIKELAB X STONE ISLAND WINDRUNNER FW16.

Nike’s most famous garment has been reworked again by Stone Island to create an entirely new beast that still retains all the DNA of the original. Paying homage to the construction of the OG Windrunner, this new version has been manufactured using two different but equally innovative fabrics. Hyper Light Membrane 2L TC fabric is used on the yoke and concealed hood, while the body is built from Membrane 3L TC. Both materials boast performance properties to match their space-age names, combining water and wind resistance with breathability in an ultra-lightweight package that allows the jacket to be folded away into its own pocket. Stone Island always push the boundaries of dyeing techniques, and for this project they’ve garment dyed the jackets to give a subtle two-tone effect caused by the mix of fabrics. The result is an exceptional mix of functionality and sophistication that’s ideal for autumn and its changeable weather conditions.
