PATTA X NIKE PUBLICITY is the latest collaboration between the two brands.
The long-standing relationship between the two brands sees the latest manifestation take the form of a hybrid NIKE AIR MAX 90/95 and an accompanying range of apparel. At this time the information surrounding this release (on the clothing side anyway) seems slightly fractured. No complete product range is as yet evident, but what is confirmed is the unique way in which the product has been contextualised. PATTA have commissioned a series of eleven visual artists to put their own mark on the range by portraying it in their own unique style. Amongst others, DANA LIXENBURG explores multiculturalism in her home city, STEPHEN TAYO heads to Lagos exploring his Nigerian roots and QUI YANG employs his heavily stylised, graphic aesthetic. The premise of the collection appears to focus on self-promotion. We will have to wait to see how this is applied.
