Having debuted the collection at London Fashion Week this year, MM6 Maison Margiela is set to team up with outerwear specialists The North Face for an imaginative capsule that expresses the conceptual prowess of MM6. Taking key pieces from the TNF Expedition System, MM6 has reimagined each in circular patterns that mimic the iconic ‘circle’ concept MM6 is recognised for. Allowing for a customised aesthetic, each piece is engineered with interlocking components that adapt and extend the protective, insulating properties of each garment, with an array of colours such as cobalt, violet, bottle green, sun yellow, and safety orange on offer. The fun spin is applied to the Himalayan Coat, Mountain Kaban, and Nuptse Puffer Jacket, with the Denali Jacket also included and lengthened into a coat dress and shortened as a sweater. Comprising of a triple zipper system allowing for adjustable sleeves and armholes, the Denali and Nuptse are able to zip directly into the Mountain Kaban for a unique and functional aesthetic. Finishing off the collection is a padded Nuptse scarf, alpine mittens, and a circle backpack based off The North Face Base Camp duffel bag, complete with MM6 branding for a luxurious finish.
