6ACRE III ROUND UP

 

Having established itself as the North’s premium sneaker event, the 6ACRE team opened its doors for the third time on 26.4.14.

Hearts were in mouths when the day’s weather forecast was given; more so when the sound of heavy rain woke most up on the morning of the event. No bin liner or [insert your own brand here] shoe protector could have prepared your loved ones for that prized, planned outing.

Luckily, as the queue began to form, the sun parted the clouds, halting the rain and intensifying the asphalt for some moody puddle reflections for some #OTF (on the foot) ‘gram shots.

When the shutters were lifted, a vast variety of vendors were present, faces new and old, adding further members into the ever-growing community. The Inherited Store, Ropes Laces and the Crepe City team had stalls, while Sy Illustrations and Steph Morris were showcasing their illustrations and artwork too.

The artwork was in keeping with the venue: exposed brickwork, open spaces and stairwells laden with graffiti as live DJs provided the location’s soundtrack.

During the many laps of the venue, SOLEHEAVEN were doing another round of their renowned selected lists. First prize going to a pair of Nike x Parra x Patta Air Max 1s, followed by a pair of Jordan XIIIs and some Nike x Supreme Flyknit Lunar Ones.

The 6Acre team excelled once again, dealing with whatever anybody tried throwing their way. Even on the morning of the event, a full black out downstairs left the floor pitch-black. But a few frantic phone calls later and the team had installed some temporary lighting, giving the basement an even more moody atmosphere.
