ADIDAS AND KANYE WEST DEBUT ADIDAS YEEZY SEASON 1

Adidas Yeezy… That’s the phrase of the moment! Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past week, you’ll have most likely heard about the launch of the ADIDAS AND KANYE WEST YEEZY SEASON 1.

Last night, as part of New York Fashion Week, the highly-anticipated collaboration made it onto the runway in a show styled by KANYE WEST with the help of contemporary artist Vanessa Beecroft. Described by the man himself as the world’s first ‘solutions-based’ clothing line, to absolve consumers of dressing’s daily stress by creating a line of high-quality essentials that can be freely combined in infinite ways — “like Legos,” and he went on to say, “I don’t want the clothes to be the life, I want the clothes to help the life”.

The men’s collection takes on a distressed military theme with a muted colour palette of nude, army green, blue-grey and black across a mix of knits, jackets and even a piece that looks like a bulletproof vest… The women’s collection stays within the same colour palette, but takes on a more utilitarian look, comprised of jackets and sheer leggings and bodysuits.

Of the most interest to us though was the footwear: we already gave you a look at the ADIDAS YEEZY BOOST 750 earlier this week, over HERE and now we can show you some initial pictures of a low-cut YEEZY BOOST, some snow boots and some stiletto boots for the ladies.

ADIDAS are not afraid to do things that are a little unusual for a sports brand. You only have to look at previous collections from the likes of JEREMY SCOTT, RAF SIMONS and RICK OWENS to get an insight into their bold choices. With Kanye’s collection they go in yet another direction that will potentially expand the brand into another demographic entirely.
