adidas Originals announce the adidas Consortium x HAVEN UltraBOOST

adidas Originals have unveiled the ADIDAS CONSORTIUM x HAVEN ULTRABOOST, featuring an uncaged blacked-out design that’s bound to prove popular.

Canadian retailer HAVEN has become a major force in global menswear since it first opened back in 2006. Starting with physical stores in Vancouver and then Toronto, HAVEN has grown a truly international following with its extensive online platform. Combining retail and editorial content, the site has proven to be a popular resource across the globe.

While Canada is widely known for its cold winters and expansive wilderness, urban life is different and weather in the cities can be temperamental. For HAVEN’s collaborative design, they’ve decided to represent the dark rainclouds and ominous skies that form off the Pacific coast before travelling inland.

With a weather-themed design, HAVEN’s technical knowledge and appreciation has resulted in elegant piece of footwear, practical in function and technical in appearance. Reflective strands run through the lacing, matching the reflective, perforated paneling on the Primeknit upper: it’s this smart minimal detailing that elevates the design beyond being a simple monochrome masterpiece. Instead of the hallmark UltraBOOST cage, this design uses subtle rubberised appliques for understated adidas branding with HAVEN’s name on small leather tabs on the shoes’ tongue.
