OVERKILL and FRUITION team up for the adidas Consortium Sneaker Exchange

The ADIDAS CONSORTIUM SNEAKER EXCHANGE OVERKILL X FRUITION celebrates contemporary womanhood, high fashion, and the evolution of female sneakers across two of the brand’s popular models.

Fresh from opening a women’s branch in their native Berlin neighbourhood, Kreuzberg, OVERKILL pair with Taipei’s go-to female retailer FRUITION to explore common ground in the next instalment of adidas Consortium’s Sneaker Exchange project. The collaboration sees the retailers overcome both cultural and geographic barriers (a mere 9,000km) to trace the evolution of the female sneaker market, focusing on the increased demand for footwear options that are both feminine and wearable. Working together in unison, the duo decided to rework silhouettes from two of adidas’ most coveted lines – the EQT Lacing ADV and the Tubular Doom.

First up, the EQT Lacing ADV is transformed with womanhood in mind, selecting a plush Vapour Pink velour upper, complete with iridescent rainbow effect panels that glow-in-the-dark. Finishing touches are added with an icy outsole, plus dual branding to the insole and back heel, as well as overlaid tape making up the trademark 3-Stripes branding in white and a lighter shade of pink.  The first time a product from the Tubular the line has featured in the Sneaker Exchange, the Doom is portrayed in a delicate new light, running with a tonal all-white-everything palette. Fresh White Linen uppers are complemented with a sock-like collar which takes it up to an avant-garde ankle height build, adding heaps of desire to this forward-thinking model.
