adidas Consortium Sneaker Exchange x United Arrows & Sons + Slam Jam: A Closer Look

Tokyo meets Ferrara for the ADIDAS CONSORTIUM SNEAKER EXCHANGE X UNITED ARROWS & SONS + SLAM JAM collaboration.

After teasing one of the models week, we finally get a proper look at the forthcoming Campus and Alcantara® Gazelle duo from United Arrows & Sons and Slam Jam’s shot at adidas Consortium’s Sneaker Exchange project. A cross continental collaboration, it sees the Japanese and Italian streetwear torch-bearers meet to explore a common ground, resulting in an understated and elegant take on two classic 3-Stripe models. Fusing leisure with luxury, each model utilises locally sourced materials to add a regional context.

The Gazelle boasts premium cream uppers crafted in Alcantara® – a polyester and polyurethane blend created by Japanese and Italian scientists in the early ‘70s, which further unifies the collaborative spirit. Tweaked slightly with a Samba tongue, the model is kept simple, with co-branded hits taking to the back heel in black, along with a comfort inducing IKEUCHI ORGANIC towelling lining. A final collaborative touch is made by replacing the lateral side ‘Gazelle” gold foil emboss with the Japanese name for the model, “Gat-zelle”.

We also get a first look at the previously unseen Campus, which strips the model back even further than the Gazelle by running with an all-white IKEUCHI ORGANIC upper and lining with very minimal branding. The white laces are covered in United Arrows & Sons printed laces, with subtle branding to the tongue tabs. Check the imagery below, and let us know your favourite…
