ADIDAS CONSORTIUM X CLOT STAN SMITH

In the aftermath of the OG reissue and the Consortium spinoffs, Stan’s return is moving into the next phase with some carefully chosen collaborations. First up: the ADIDAS CONSORTIUM X CLOT STAN SMITH.

We’ve seen a trio of oriental Stan makeups emerge so far, with NEIGHBORHOOD and mastermind JAPAN joining the party, but it’s CLOT’s version that makes it across to us first. They’ve flipped the famously-white upper to black and switched out leather for nubuck, laid down gold leather on the tongue and heel tabs and branded the rear of the shoe with a CLOT logo in gold, all on top of a beige sole. There’s nice detailing going on here: faint CLOT branding to the heel tab and tongue on the right shoe, with the standard Stan decals retained for the left and some nice detailing around the rear seams that runs up to become the heel loop for an added neoprene insert. A little techy addition on a classic shoe – we’re fans.
