adidas Originals Announces the Return of the A-ZX Series

The ADIDAS ORIGINALS A-ZX SERIES returns to the streets, presenting 26 special ZX makeups designed by some of the biggest and most creative names in the industry. Commencing imminently and then continuing throughout the rest of 2020 and into 2021, each release will be communicated via a cryptic periodic table device…

Paying respect to the all-important ZX lineage, adidas Originals has relaunched the now-legendary A-ZX series for 2020. It should go without saying that the ZX series shook the world of footwear design when it was introduced in 1984, proving that high-performance didn’t have to mean minimal styling. Over the years, there have been many celebrations of the collection, but 2008 saw the launch of the first A-ZX campaign with special releases from a wide range of partners. Never ones to rest on their laurels, adidas Originals are bringing the A-ZX concept back with 26 more collaborative and commemorative drops, all of which fit within a periodic table key or reference device.

To get this party started right, three key styles are kicking things off: an OG colourway of the ZX 10000 C, a hybrid ZX 8000 Superstar and an atmos ZX 8000 G-SNK. If that wasn’t enough, adidas has also announced that the pack’s next release will be ‘Ir’ – we reckon this could mark the return of their collaborations with the NYC graffiti legends known as IRAK… Watch this space for more info as we receive it.
