adidas Originals Announce the adidas Consortium x Titolo NMD XR1

adidas Originals announce the ADIDAS CONSORTIUM X TITOLO NMD XR1, uniting the renowned Swiss retailer with the Three Striped powerhouse on one of the most-loved silhouettes out there.

With highly respected stores in both Zurich and Basel, Titolo has looked to the region’s dramatic outdoors to create a design inspired by alpine snow zones and hidden glacial phenomena. Far from being a sheer white blanket of snow, the mountainous natural terrain of Switzerland features subtle nuances and details. Patterns, corrugations and layers add depth and disruption to one of the most challenging environments in the natural world. The Titolo NMD XR1 Trail reflects this landscape via a loose gauge pattern in the shoe’s Primeknit upper and perforated leather details. The asymmetric overlay simulates a snow covered ridge in the sunlight, whilst surface patterns are represented in the textured structure of the BOOST midsole. The icy Trail outsole mirrors the appearance of a glacier, with translucency that gives a feeling of depth and expanse.

The leather cage features a perforated pattern on the lateral side, depicting the accumulation of billions of individual flakes on a snow-covered surface, with logo embossing on the medial side. The off-white leather tongue and leather heel support feature clean co-branding, with special insoles that echo the rest of the shoe’s design. Applying an appropriate and authentic alpine theme to the XR1 has resulted in a fresh and clean piece of footwear that will find fans across the board.
