Available Now: the adidas Originals FW17 SPEZIAL Footwear Collection

The new ADIDAS ORIGINALS FW17 SPEZIAL FOOTWEAR collection sees Gary Aspden’s curated project return once again, digging deep into the adidas archives and updating some of the most interesting and admired silhouettes within.

To kick things off for this flawless collection, the lookbook and campaign imagery for the adidas SPEZIAL FW17 lookbook features Goldie – the pioneer and icon, who burst into the graffiti scene over thirty years ago. From his artwork through to his music, Goldie’s authentic approach to his projects embodies the SPEZIAL ethos. Goldie has been shot by one of the world’s most influential photographers, Nick Knight OBE, culminating in a strong set of images that capture the spirit of SPEZIAL.

To compliment the apparel – which you can see here – this season’s footwear offering finds a strong selection of silhouettes being given the SPEZIAL treatment. First up, we have the SUPER TOBACCO SPZL, which comes with a T-toe overlay and borrows elements from the Bermuda model, resulting in a smart piece of autumn-ready footwear. Next up, the INTACK SPZL and SPIRITUS SPZL models come straight from the adidas archives and have been updated with new colours and a carefully chosen selection of premium materials.

The GT WENSLEY SPZL uses tooling from the Samba and comes with new suede and nylon touches, whilst the leather LACOMBE SPZL will appeal to those looking for a lower profile shoe. To round off this round of SPEZIAL shoes, there’s the ’70s styled TRX SPZL and perhaps one of the most interesting designs in the series, the WINTERHILL SPZL, which looks ready to handle whatever you can throw at it.
