The forthcoming ADIDAS ORIGINALS STORE LAUNCH has got heads talkin’ already – and not just because one of the most-loved brands are bringing an official presence back to to the London retail scene… The big news surrounding this opening is that there’s an exclusive (and highly limited) ADIDAS LONDON ZX FLUX to accompany the event. And it’s a bangin’ shoe!
Shoes that celebrate London have been a mixed bag in the past. Grey is an understandable choice to represent the concrete streets of the capital, but seeing it used as the base colour on every London-themed release can be a bit… dull. Yes, there’s some grey on these too, but the photographic treatment – perfect to showcase the capabilities of the Flux process – has so much more going on. Using a fantastic aerial view of the city, the end result is a lot less ‘Eastenders’ than you might assume and the aqua green of the Thames ties the the whole shoe together perfectly. In addition to this special shoe, a special edition newspaper (‘Neighbourhood London’) launches too, featuring some of London’s finest stylists, photographers, graphic designers, poets and artists.
