A Work of Art: adidas Originals x Daniel Arsham The Past Is Present

The ADIDAS ORIGINALS X DANIEL ARSHAM THE PAST IS PRESENT drop effortlessly marries the American artist’s penchant for deep-rooted discovery with a new take on the brand’s New York silhouette.

Channelling his fascination with archaeology and 20th-century cultural artefacts into the design, Arsham blends subtle detailing with premium stylistic elements. Working with the straightforward running-inspired New York silhouette, the model is constructed from a distressed Chalk White canvas upper complete with frayed edges, stripping the shoe back to its rawest form.

Additional design features include an ultraviolet ink print on the mesh midsole, which when placed under UV light reads, “THE PAST IS PRESENT”. The underside of each shoe’s tongue is screen printed with “Daniel Arsham” and “PAST”, adding Arsham’s penchant for discovery and hidden meaning to one thoroughly considered collaboration.

Final touches include white laces with painted metal tips and exclusive dual branded packaging, serving up a high-end sensibility on this limited release sneaker.
