One of the UK’s finest retailers, Oi Polloi has strong connections with the 3 Stripes: in fact, the shop’s founders started out selling rare, imported adidas trainers. This depth of knowledge came into play for the new collab, as the Mancunian menswear masters at Oi Polloi delved into the adidas Spezial archives to rework an old terrace favourite for the modern era. The resulting Manchester Marine SPZL comes dressed in a deep blue suede that would surely even win Elvis’ seal of approval, offset by royal blue stripes and heel tab and a dark navy sole. The tongue features a dual-branded label, while the insole is printed with vintage Spezial graphics. And as a finishing touch, the lateral side of the shoe bears the name of the style (and Oi Polloi’s hometown) in gold foil to contrast beautifully with the rich shades of blue.
