adidas Y-3 AW16 Collection – Available Now

The ADIDAS Y-3 AW16 COLLECTION sees Yohji Yamamoto and the Three Stripes deliver another dose of gothic futurism.

While some brands operating in a similar style tend to go way overboard, Y-3 always makes sure to rein things in enough to stay easily wearable – with a few avant-garde curveballs thrown in for good measure, of course. The new collection features a host of crowdpleasers like the Qasa, Sprint, QR Run and Yohji Run, plus the new Qasa Boot which takes the OG model’s signature straps and lacing system and sends them soaring skywards.

The collection also plucks several archive styles out of the past and equips them for a dystopian future. The Stan Zip takes everybody’s favourite vintage court classic and adds exposed zips on either side of the laces, with pared-back panels and moulded branding contributing to the zero-gravity space tennis vibe. Meanwhile the Super Zip reworks the iconic Superstar with a neoprene upper and a removable military-style zipped lace cover – details which also appear in high-top form on the Pro Zip model.
