Created by designer and technical developer Jacques Chassing and Markus Thaler, work commenced on the ZX 1000 Series in 1984. Three years were spent arduously fine-tuning the concept with scientists to achieve the optimum result, with the ZX 5000 also debuting the heralded Torsion System’s TPU arch to bridge the heel and forefoot. Paired with a lightweight upper in commanding colourways and an infectious marketing campaign featuring the slogan “I want, I can,” the series came under demand from both runners, casual wearers and collectors alike. These reissued editions stay true to the original designs, successfully delivering the ZX Series to a new generation of sneaker enthusiasts.
