ASICS X COMMONWEALTH GEL LYTE V GEMINI – DROPPING WITH SNS ON 25 OCT 2014
The ASICS X COMMONWEALTH GEL LYTE V GEMINI has had cages rattled since images first showed up online. It’s an unusual shoe, following the ‘opposites’ colour-blocking style used previously by legends such as Hiroshi Fujiwara.
Inspired by Gemini, one of the constellations of the zodiac, Commonwealth got together with Asics to create this navy and patriot blue version of the Gel Lyte V. Using Gemini’s symbol of twins as a starting point, the shoes are a mirror image of each other. The left shoe has a premium full-grain leather base and suede panelling, whilst the other shoe has the inverse: a nubuck suede base with leather overlays. It’s unusual without being wacky – and we like them a lot.
