ASICS TIGER GEL LYTE III – CRANE & TURTLE
Earlier this month ASICS officially renamed their lifestyle line ASICS TIGER and here we introduce two of the first inline GEL LYTE III releases.
The starting point for this pack was an old Japanese proverb; “Tsuru sen-nen, kame man-nen”, which roughly translates to “Crane lives for 1,000 years. Turtle lives for 10,000 years.” In Japanese culture both the crane and turtle are both symbols of long life and longevity and are the inspiration for the colourways in this release. Both shoes have predominantly suede uppers with the grey, red and white representing the colouring of the crane’s feathers, whilst the more understated green, tan and yellow nods towards to a turtle’s shell. Finishing touches include custom printed insoles (representing the animals that inspire the colourways) and speckling on the midsoles. If this release is a sign of what’s to come from ASICS TIGER, then we can expect plenty more great pieces of footwear.
