The ASICS Tiger Gel-MAI G-TX White Is Mad Icy

The ASICS TIGER GEL-MAI G-TX WHITE goes back to basics with this icy white and blue spin on the distinctly laced ’90s silhouette.

This time last year, ASICS Tiger floated a successful return of their slightly obscure ‘90s model, the Gel-MAI. Since then, it’s been the centre of collaborations with the likes of mita, Patta, and Beams, as well as a couple of OG-inspired drops to keep the heads happy. This time, however, the silhouette swoops in with a fresh, near all-white assault on the asymmetric laced model.

The distinct design combines a GORE-TEX breathable mesh base with webbed suede panelling overlays that double up as eye stays for the laces, bringing each side of the shoe together once the laces are fastened. One of the only ASICS Tiger running shoes to strip away the brand’s iconic side stripes, branding has been subtly relocated to the rear midsole with a shiny translucent fascia and icy blue heel tab and pulley that finished the unique lacing system.
