Bringing us a fiery option sure to be rocked this summer, ASICSTIGER has teamed up with Japanese designer Sneakerwolf to breathe new life into the Gel-Kayano. Drawing inspiration from 18^th century Edo Period Japan, the shoe represents the entrapment of Japanese commoners forbidden to experience luxury and forced to don basic cotton garments instead of shiny materials or royal colours. In order to emphasise the rejection of these bans, the Sneakerwolf-designed shoe combines all that was not allowed. Dressed in a bold purple and white mesh, the shoe is layered with premium materials and colours with a flame design evoking the classic Japanese expression of “fires and fistfights are the flowers of Edo,” which is seen starting on the toe box and finishing towards the heel of the shoe.
