A pioneer of Afrobeat and a perpetual political incendiary and human rights activist, Fela Kuti became one of the most powerful cultural figures in Africa during the ’70s and ’80s. To further pay tribute to his legacy, Carhartt has come together with the icon’s estate and created a capsule consisting of tees, caps, and shorts; featuring artwork from his vibrant album cover of the 1975 release ‘Expensive Shit’ and referencing famous tracks such as Ye De Smell to create the collection’s colourful and vivid prints. To accompany the clothing, ‘Live in Detroit 1986’ will be re-released on vinyl, limited to 500 copies.
