A very limited run of the excellent CONVERSE 1970s CHUCK TAYLOR ALL STAR collection, from the brands First String division, will be available in the UK this weekend. Everyone owns a pair of All Stars, right? They’re always getting battered, live in a shoe basket and hang around your back door, and that’s why we love them.
A chuck’s a chuck too, right? you might say that’s pretty much how the six in the shot above look, standard issue Converse. But it’s all in the details, and although subtle, are enough when you notice them to set this release apart from the mainline range of seasonal offerings, that your nephew up to your nan wear the sh!t out of.
The details we speak of are simple, with the raised foxing around the sole unit, slightly more solid toebox and sidewall stitching all adding a little bit more comfort to the shoe. The heel plate branding looks nice, the laces are thicker, and the tough canvas upper adds it’s worth to the overall durability of the classic.
This is a very tight drop, with the Black and the White colourways of the CONVERSE 1970s CHUCK TAYLOR ALL STAR collection dropping at FOOTPATROL on Saturday 2.3.13 in-store, and if there’s any left over, then mail order will be available from Monday. The others, which are all original reissues, are scheduled for later down the line in April and June. We’ll keep you updated as and when we know more, and good luck to those looking to grab these when they drop. These really are a solid version of everyones favourite beaters.
