Upon first glance, the aesthetics of the new All-Star Pro BB look very familiar, drawing on the classic basketball heritage that grew the Chuck Taylor to what it is today. Since 1917, Converse has been synonymous with basketball, having introduced the Non-Skid as one of the first hoops dedicated shoes, and then hosting the first ever basketball clinic in North Carolina five years later. The clinic was hosted by none other than Chuck Taylor himself, a Converse salesman and coach who was a pivotal part of growing the sport across the USA, eventually adding his name to their flagship hoops shoe in 1934.

Converse has been a part of many iconic moments in the game, with Wilt Chamberlain sporting Chucks in his 100-point game, as well as Julius Erving when he performed “the scoop” in 1980, and throughout countless title matches during the ‘80s, ‘90s, and 2000s. With that, the Converse All Star Pro BB is a symbol of the history behind the brand; incorporating the latest technology and innovation from Nike to bring us a shoe ready for the modern game. Its simple design utilises a single layer of Nike Quadfit mesh to create a flexible and lightweight upper, with solid lockdown for the ultimate support, sitting atop a super responsive React foam sole unit. The design looks to the past with iconic Converse elements – including the All-Star patch in the medial side of the shoe – ensuring elements of the Chuck Taylor Hi that we all love are retained.
