Customised cushioning: the PUMA JAMMING takes a step forward

The PUMA JAMMING introduces an entirely new cushioning technology, and the first colourway is about to drop…

There’s been an explosion of new footwear technologies in recent years, with ultra-modern research and construction techniques applied to everything from uppers to lacing systems. And while there’s been a big focus on developing new underfoot cushioning, somehow things have never moved past the concept of a static sole unit. That’s where the PUMA Jamming comes in. A clear midsole is filled with specially-developed NRGY beads, which shift and collide together as you move to generate incredible comfort and energy return. While a traditional trainer sole offers a one-size-fits-all approach to comfort, the free-moving NRGY beads are able to reposition around your foot and jam together to provide customised cushioning with each step.

To complement the innovative sole unit, the Jamming comes with a teched-out evoKNIT upper embellished with subtle branding details at the sides and forefoot. The sock-like upper conforms to your foot for a bespoke fit, with a gradient fade that moves from black to olive green to match the camo-like colours of the NRGY beads. An off-white heel tab and toecap provides a bright pop against the wintery base colours, and the whole package is rounded off with an icy translucent outsole. Future releases will feature new NRGY bead colour combos and matching uppers to offer a unique mix of aesthetics and technology.
