First Look At The Gosha Rubchinskiy adidas ACE16+ SUPER

The GOSHA RUBCHINSKIY ACE16+ SUPER is the adidas silhouette that the Moscow-born fashion upstart recently revealed in his Autumn/Winter 2017 menswear show.

How has Rubchinisky interpreted the Three Stripes’ brand heritage? The new trainer features a laceless Primeknit upper with enlarged three-stripes branding and a higher cut on the sock cuff, all sitting atop a Samba Spezial outsole. Check out the pictures – The Drop Date has seen three colourways of the new collaborative effort: white, black and red with contrasting stripes branding and gum soles.

The Drop Date has been keeping its beady, football- and menswear-loving eye on Rubchinisky, reporting on his well received menswear show earlier in January. As we revealed then, the designer has frequently looked to his homeland’s football fan culture for inspiration, so the partnership with adidas makes perfect sense. The long-term collaboration between the Russian designer and the German sportswear giant was unveiled at Rubchinskiy’s AW17 show in Kaliningrad, a location chosen because it used to be part of Germany but is now Russian territory. Other than these kicks, it appears as if we should look forward to range of outerwear, tracksuits, knitwear, jerseys, hats and scarves, all bearing the word ‘Football’ in Russian Cyrillic script. The partnership between Rubchinisky and adidas is reporterd to last into 2018, when Russia hosts the World Cup.
