Jordan Brand Spring 2016 The Dunk From Above Collection – Release Info

As the name suggests, the JORDAN BRAND SPRING 2016 THE DUNK FROM ABOVE COLLECTION is inspired by Michael Jordan’s effortless ability to jump sky-high.

The collection is comprised of three different silhouettes – the AIR JORDAN 1 NOUVEAU, the AIR JORDAN 4 and the AIR JORDAN 5 LOW. The AIR JORDAN 1 NOUVEAU, the first shoe in the franchise to include the Wings logo, features a classic flat leather finish, with white overlays against a blue base. The stand-out feature is the colour shifting swoosh, which is inspired by aviator goggles. Underneath, a white midsole keeps things clean, with the ever-popular choice of a gum outsole rounding things off. The AIR JORDAN 4, which introduced the word ‘Flight’ onto a basketball shoe, sports a navy blue leather upper contrasted by pops of yellow. White mesh overlays add some more contrast and tie in perfectly with the midsole, which again sits above a gum outsole. Lastly, the AIR JORDAN 5 LOW combines hits of navy blue and gold against a predominantly white upper, sat above a similarly coloured midsole and icy outsole. The idea of flight for this silhouette comes from the design cues that the shoe takes from a World-War II fighter plane. Like the Poster Collection and The Alternate Collection, we can see this trio being a popular release.
