LE COQ SPORTIF ECLAT 89 NEON PACK

If you follow us on our social feeds, you may have noticed we’ve been getting a little bit excited about the three new colourways from the LE COQ SPORTIF ECLAT 89 NEON Pack, recently. The ECLAT, first released in 1985, is a superb, sleak running silhouette and the UK Division of the 130 year old French brand have worked extremely hard to introduce the classic runner back in to the market over the past year or so, in a well thought-out and calculated way, that other brands would do well to take heed of.

Since it’s phoenix from the flames at the beginning of 2012, we’ve seen a few colourways drop, along with two really strong, and very limited collaborations. First we saw the excellent FOOTPATROL nylon and suede make-up in a deep navy colourway, limited to 85 pairs worldwide, in honour of the shoes original year of release. The second collaboration saw SIZE? drop a very tight 12 pairs, finished in their branded colours, to celebrate the opening of their first overseas store in Paris towards the end of last year – not a bad start indeed, as we’re sure you’ll agree.

2013 kicks off with the NEON Pack – consisting of three colourways, and each as strong as the next. Moving away from the nylon, we are now treated to a solid, thick weave mesh upper, wrapped in premium, brushed suede overlays and highlighted with everyones favourite 3M heel panelling, all sat upon a one piece, speckled rubber midsole. The branded plastic heel cup and Ghillie lacing system adds to the shoes support, whilst the embroidered branding on the nylon side squares, and the embossed heel tab are excellently executed.

The crazy thing is, this really is a superb shoe, ticking all the right boxes on the shape, materials and colourways, and we get all this for the cost of one foot of most of todays releases, without any loss of quality or drab colours.
