Black Denim for Black Friday’s MEDICOM TOY x Nike SB Dunk Low Elite BE@RBRICK

The MEDICOM TOY x NIKE SB DUNK LOW ELITE BE@RBRICK brings back the partnership between the Swoosh and Japanese vinyl toy studio on a sequel to the original black denim Dunk SB released back in 2005.

Back in the day, the Nike Dunk might have started life as a basketball sneaker, but by fattening the tongue, the collar and Zoom Air insoles, the SB version became the Nike skate shoe. Still standing proud since its debut back in 2002, the SB Dunk has remained one of the more collectable models in the Nike catalogue, with plenty of colourways, special editions and variations to keep us on our toes. With its foot-hugging knit design, this new Elite version is slimmer and lighter than the classic Dunk, delivering excellent board feel and improved control. A visible Nike Zoom Air unit in the heel offers powerful, lightweight cushioning to help soften hard landings. Suede overlays offer durable support, whilst the thin rubber sole offers excellent traction. This special edition finds the Medicom crew in Japan applying their black denim styling (as seen on the 2005 Dunk SB collaboration) once again with excellent results. Nike SB pro Theotis Beasley recently posted a shot on Instagram of a pack with a Be@rbrick figure included: we’re not sure if or when this will drop, but we’ve heard that December could be a possibility… Watch this space!
