First designed as versatile fitness shoe in 1987, the Workout Low has shapeshifted its way through the past three decades to become a staple in the footwear community.

Further adding to Reebok’s casual footwear arsenal, the Workout has been given a military inspired transformation by Japanese retailer mita Sneakers’ creative director, Shigeyuki Kunii, who flips the script by utilizing a muted palette across the shoe. The result is a highly refined re-hash of the Workout, which also takes heed from Reebok’s rugged Hyper Velocity work boot, seeing the uppers constructed in rugged coyote brown suede, with accents of heavy duty canvas detailings, including a grab-handle to the rear, with a personal injection of mita found on the dual-branded insoles.

Impressed by mita’s muted and earthy transformation of the cross-fit classic, we shot the collaboration up close, capturing just how versatile and rugged the military-inspired construction model is on-foot.
