The Mizuno Wave Rider 1 x La MJC Has Arrived

The MIZUNO WAVE RIDER 1 X LA MJC sees the Parisian agency celebrate African-American culture across the waved ‘90s runner.

Mizuno joined forces with Parisian boutique Club 75 co-owner Michael Dupouy’s agency, La MJC, for a limited edition spin on the iconic Wave Rider 1 silhouette. Celebrating the stores third anniversary, the collaborative ‘90s model is inspired by David Hammons’ green and red “African-American Flag,” which Dupouy felt would work perfectly across the wave-flecked runner. The result boasts a premium suede, leather, and mesh nylon upper that mirrors the flag’s red, green and black composition, while the white midsole houses off Mizuno’s Wave technology in red alongside a black and red dot graphic. Dual-branded heel tabs, leather insoles, and three pairs of interchangeable laces in black, red, and green options complete this bold design.
