A tech runner from the ‘90s, the 878 is maybe one of the lesser-known models of New Balance’s arsenal, but it sure packs a punch. Here the shoe is transformed in a colourful style reminiscent of ‘Joiners’ collage photography that came into being in the very early ‘80s. Starting with Polaroids and progressing to 35mm lab-processed photos, the result was like nothing ever seen before. The collages unique mismatch of colour is carried on this 878, with pops of blue, green, yellow, grey and salmon making their way across the leather and mesh uppers, which all rest upon the model’s trademark ABZORB midsole.
