Originally designed by Jonathan Bacon, the New Balance 992 introduced ABZORB Stability Insock technology to the world, along with top-tier uppers constructed in materials such as premium pig suede and breathable mesh. For the 992’s first-ever retro run back in 2020, we witnessed collaborations with Chicago’s Joe Freshgoods, Tetsu Nishiyama’s WTAPS, KITH’s Ronnie Fieg and Montreal-based studio, JJJJound amongst others. It’s clear that there’s a new generation of 992 fans that will keep the shoe’s interest alive for the future.
