NEW BALANCE C-SERIES COLLECTION

The NEW BALANCE C-SERIES COLLECTION for SS15 is one of the most interesting sets of footwear that we’ve seen recently.

New Balance’s Tokyo Design Studio is responsible for some of the more limited, exclusive releases from the legendary brand. As you’d expect, every creation is executed with genuine finesse, and the special C-Series project – designed with cycling in mind – has resulted in some fantastic pieces. Two new models coming to Europe shortly (the 996C and the CM600C) have been developed under the guiding eye of Design Manager Shugo Moritani, specifically for the urban commuter who rides daily, yet with a clever casual approach that will endear them to non-cyclists alike. To help launch the collection, Moritani teamed up with Tokyobike, renowned manufacturer of well designed urban bikes.

The 996C comes in two forms: a black rubberised leather option, with reflector logo and secondly, the full 3M reflective version, for high visiblity night riding. Next up, the CM600C has a sock construction for easy access, full scratch rubber upper for durability and is presented in four colour options. 3M detailing is used tastefully throughout and perforated sections allow breathability and comfort. The 996C features a clever tongue pocket to allow the rider to tuck their laces away, avoiding lace tangles with the crank, pedals or sprockets. The forefoot utilises a stiff and durable compound rubber to prevent sole flex when body weight is distributed onto the pedals. Cycling footwear has never looked so good.
