A premium running model from NB’s mid-90s era, the 850 was the first shoe in their range to lose the iconic ‘N’ branding, opting for an alternative ‘NB’ identity, which is embroidered on the tongue and heel. The mesh and leather upper features overlapping layers to give a modern, more contemporary look to the shoe, whilst providing extra support on the medial and lateral sides. The carbon rubber outsole provides a rugged grip underfoot, with the iconic Rollbar® Technology in place, designed to reduce rear-foot movement with a molded plate placed under the heel. Originally presented as a unisex design, the 850 was truly ahead of the curve at the time of release and still holds up well over twenty years on.
