The New Balance X Levi’s 990v3 Brings Denim Back

The NEW BALANCE X LEVI’S 990V3 unites the two iconic brands on an equally significant model from the NB archives. Raising expectations when it first dropped back in 1982, the New Balance 990 was the first running shoe to hit the $100 price point – a considerable investment for anyone back in the early ’80s. Despite this dubious accolade, the 990 was the most technical running design on the market at that time: for athletes, this was money well spent. Today, the 990 is more known as a lifestyle masterpiece, with its strong styling that was perhaps overlooked back at the time of launch – and seeing it decked out in top-to-bottom denim from the Levi’s design rooms just adds to the flavour. Blue or grey denim and suede form much of the upper section, with an off-white midsole and a set of matching laces to contrast. The classic Levi’s tag positioned on the sidewalls is a perfect sign-off to a strong collaborative release.
