The NEW BALANCE X RED WING SHOES M997 is a special deluxe edition of the 997 model, created in collaboration with Red Wing Shoes: the American footwear brand based in Red Wing, Minnesota that was founded by Charles H. Beckman in 1905.

Designed as a lifestyle shoe back in the ‘90s, the 997 is a timeless piece of footwear, as we’ve recently seen on several collaborations and updated editions of the original silhouette. For this release, NB has linked up with Red Wing Shoes for a special edition of the 997 that shows off the skilled craftsmanship that’s at the core of both brands. Red Wing leather has been used extensively throughout the construction, presented in a tonal palette of brown, cream and red, which is a reference to the Red Wing partnership. Other details are subtle yet appropriate, such as the tan leather lining and Red Wing-branded insoles, and an off-white midsole and red gum outsole underneath rounding off the design perfectly.
