The New Balance x Slam Jam 991 Marks the Next Chapter in the (Un)corporate Uniforms Project

The NEW BALANCE X SLAM JAM 991 follows on from 2019’s ‘Unfinished’ 990v3 collaboration with a new rendition of the classic 991 design, accompanied by a matching black waterproof anorak and track pants set.

First released back in 2001, New Balance decided to bring the 991 out of the archives, and this latest edition finds much-loved Italian retailer Slam Jam reworking New Balance’s iconic 991 in celebration of the model’s 20th anniversary. Slam Jam has given the sneaker a smart reworking, featuring ripstop nylon on the upper with luxe pigskin leather and reflective piping on the New Balance logo. As part of the (Un)corporate Uniforms project — Slam Jam’s ongoing study into understanding the ideals of the ultimate uniform – this is a premium project that falls under NB’s Made in England category, adding a stamp of quality to the proceedings. The waterproof anorak and track pant set will be accompanying the shoe with special reflective accents added to bio-motion points. The release is announced via a Katie Burnett-shot campaign, accompanied by images of the shoe at New Balance’s legendary Shap store in Cumbria.

The NEW BALANCE X SLAM JAM 991 drops on FRIDAY 13 MAY: follow the banner below for stockist information.
