When the original Nike Huarache hit the shelves back in 1991, it marked the arrival of a radical new approach to how footwear fits on the individual’s foot. The neoprene bootie and exoskeletal upper gave unparalleled form and comfort without being restrictive. Now, with the introduction of the Nike Adapt Huarache, that same idea is being powered by Nike FitAdapt technology: an intelligent platform that updates and evolves along with the wearer. This new version of FitAdapt allows for a wider array of personal preferences and comfort options, offering an adaptive shoe for any situation.

The Nike FitAdapt lacing system is operated from a midfoot motor and controlled by a multi-faceted Nike Adapt app. With this app installed, wearers are greeted by a universal login and a Huarache-themed interface, with a number of preset fit recommendations for differing foot types and activities. The functionality of the app can also be driven by Apple Watch and Siri, integrating into the wearer’s lifestyle and routine with minimal disruption.
