When the original Nike Huarache launched back in 1991, it heralded a radical new approach to how the fit of a shoe worked on an individual’s foot. A neoprene bootie and exoskeletal upper offered a solution back then, but in 2019 that same idea is now powered by Nike FitAdapt technology: an intelligent system that updates and evolves along with the wearer. As an adaptive shoe, designed for any situation, the Nike FitAdapt lacing system is operated from a midfoot motor and controlled by a multi-faceted Nike Adapt app. With this app, wearers are presented with a number of preset fit recommendations for differing foot types and activities. With Apple Watch and Siri integration, the Huarache Adapt marks the next level of footwear technology and function, which is seen here in a forthcoming Racer Blue colourway.
