The Long-Awaited Nike AF1 Downtown Hi SP Acronym is Finally Here

The long-awaited NIKE AF1 DOWNTOWN HI SP ACRONYM is finally releasing, bringing months of speculation to an end. Sample pairs have been spotted in various locations over the past year, so we’re excited to see that this intriguing design is getting the official release it deserves.

When Acronym overlord Errolson Hugh gets to grips with a footwear project, he doesn’t do it by halves. We’ve seen just how innovative he is with his previous two Nike collaborations – the ACRONYM x NIKELAB LUNAR FORCE 1 ZIP and the ACRONYM x NIKELAB AIR PRESTO MID – so it’s no surprise at all to see that this latest project pushes the boundaries once again. The AF1 Downtown has been primarily a women’s model in the past, but this time it’s open to all. New premium details include an updated mid-top strap with a buckle that echoes Acronym apparel and luggage, side zippers on the medial sides and contrast stitching on the Swoosh branding. Fans of the recent SF-AF1 will definitely appreciate the high-top cut, which should keep feet and ankles warm over the next couple of months before the warmer months kick in. There are three colourways on offer here – the DAF1-001 is Black/White, the DAF1-003 is primarily Black whilst the DAF1-006 has an extra zing of colour on the heel. It’s hard to choose a favourite, but the crimson detailing on the DAF1-006 really stands out, which should make it a popular option.
