For the last 50 years, West London has played host to one of Europe’s biggest street festivals, Notting Hill Carnival. Taking place each August Bank Holiday weekend, the capital celebrates the communities, culture and traditions of Carnival, embracing cultural diversity during the two-day festival – which sees the streets of Notting Hill burst with colours, music, dancing, and pretty banging food.

Nike first paid homage to the street party way back in 2003 with the original Carnival Air Force 1. To celebrate carnival season, the iconic colour-popping model will swoop in for a re-release just time for the event, flaunting its timeless leather and mesh palette of bold colours inspired by the Rio Carnivale. The two colourways for 2017 are made unique with a limited-edition insole design that encapsulates exactly what Carnival is about: “Peace, Love and Unity.”
