The Nike Air Huarache was of course the brainchild of Tinker Hatfield, who drew his inspiration from the snug-fitting neoprene boots that he’d wear whenever he went water-skiing. The design of the shoe was one thing, but the development from concept to product involved some of the great names from the brand including Michael Donohue, Sandy Bodecker and Mike Quinn. This level of innovation and expertise elevated the Huarache far above the typical running shoe category, cementing its place in the history books. In celebration of its 30th anniversary, the classic Huarache design returns in classic colours – White, Scream Green, Royal Blue and Black – ensuring its success when it hits the shelves.
