Made instantly recognisable by their distinct cross-strap lockdown, the Jordan 8 and Air Raid 2 were both also designed by Tinker Hatfield, so it’s no surprise that we see features of the basketball model bump heads on this forthcoming edition of the Jumpman shoe. A clash of the ’90s hoops titans, it borrows the Air Raid 2’s tell-tale purple, green, yellow, and red patter, splashing it across the midfoot of the 8’s black upper and also replicating the palette on its tri-colour towelling tongue logo. An Aloe Verde sockliner finishes the look, along with splashes of orange to the outsole, firming up what has got to be one of this year’s more thoughtful ‘90s hoop throwbacks.
