The NIKE AIR MAX 1 EVOLUTION OF ICONS is almost upon us, following the other members of this rather fetching self-celebratory Air Max collection.

Tinker Hatfield’s Air Max 1 design is undoubtedly one of the most important shoes in not just Nike’s history, but within the evolution of footwear design as a whole. A game-changer from day one, the AM1 (or Air Max 87, as some like to refer to it) introduced visible Air windows, bold colours and a memorable presence to the running shoe category. As a result, the shoe’s appeal is timeless and we’re not alone in saying that it’s one of the few designs that we’ll never tire of seeing. It wouldn’t be Air Max Day without the original family member being amongst the line-up – and that’s what we have here. Special design elements come in the form of details and accents from a number of the Air Max lineage: neon from the Air Max 95, the tongue badge from the Air Max Plus, Infrared from the OG Air Max 1… it’s all present and correct without looking like a ‘What The’ montage. As you may expect, anticipation levels are high for this one.
