Nike Officially Unveil the New Nike Air Max 270

Nike has unveiled the official images of the new NIKE AIR MAX 270: the newest addition to the world-renowned Air Max series.

This brand-new Nike Air model is the first Air Max shoe designed specifically for all-day lifestyle comfort, blending style elements of ’90s Air Max models with revolutionary Max Air cushioning technology. Perfect for lounging around, but also more than capable of handling our everyday manoeuvres. Inspired by the classic Air Max 180 and Air Max 93 models, the 270 takes inspiration from their innovative Air units, with a newly-engineered Max Air component — the tallest heel unit to date — which offers greater impact absorption. Described by product testers as providing a trampoline-like effect, this has to be one of the most appealing elements of the new model. The ‘270’ part of the name is derived from the 270 degrees of visible air within its Max Air unit. The form-fitting zoned mesh upper allows for flex and breathability, with a moulded dual-density foam layer for smooth transition from heel to forefoot.

“Originally, the idea was to mash up the Air Max 93 and the Air Max 180 and build a new, more refined silhouette incorporating elements of both,” says Dylan Raasch, Senior Creative Director of Nike Air Max. “Somewhere along the way, we got to a point where we essentially abandoned that idea and decided to make something entirely new. That’s when we flipped to what has now become the Nike Air Max 270 with this new, sleek, engineered upper. It’s not a hybrid at all, it’s a new Air Max.”.

The NIKE AIR MAX 270 will release on the Nike SNKRS app on THURSDAY 1 FEBRUARY in Light Bone and Hot Punch, followed by a wider release in OG-inspired colours during this year’s Air Max Day festivities: keep checking in with us for the latest info on all the drops.
